At Baptist Memorial Health Care, competency assessment and validation is a vital component of
nursing – beginning in orientation and continuing throughout a nursing career. For newly
licensed registered nurses, Baptist’s clinical nurse residency program provides a structured
one-year program that provides a positive first work experience and creates opportunities to
increase knowledge, education, technical skills and professional behaviors. The clinical nurse
resident will be able to demonstrate competency in direct patient care through a formulated and
supervised clinical experience.
