Nursing at Baptist Women's Hospital takes place in many different settings. The Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is where Baptist treats babies who are born premature or have complications, such as heart defects or underdeveloped lungs. The Neonatal Continuing Care Unit helps transition the baby and family from the NICU to their home.
Baptist's labor and delivery unit was designed to be both high-tech and high-touch. Monitoring of mom and baby occurs electronically along with documentation of the care provided. Nurses provide care for a wide variety of patients having single and multiple births.
